'Starting Over Again' earns P100M in 3 days

Box-office hit "Starting Over Again" starring Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga soared to new heights on Saturday, as it hit the P100 million-mark just three days after its premiere.

The figure was announced on Saturday by Star Cinema's advertising and promotions manager, Mico Del Rosario on Twitter, who also expressed his gratitude to the supporters of the film.

"MARAMING MARAMING SALAMAT SA SUPORTA! #startingoveragain P100 Million in JUST 3 DAYS!!" Del Rosario said in a post.

Likewise, Gonzaga thanked the supporters in an official statement posted on Star Cinema's Facebook page.

"Maraming, maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat. This movie was worth 13 years of waiting. God's perfect time is always the best. Thank you everyone for being brave enough to appreciate what our film has to offer. You made our first movie ni Piolo my most unforgettable film ever," said Gonzaga.

'Starting Over Again' earns P100M in 3 days

Pascual, who is currently with Gonzaga in San Francisco to promote the US premiere of the film, said he is humbled by the continuous and overwhelming support from the fans.

"Thank you very much for believing and extending your support to Star Cinema and everyone who's part of this project. We're all humbled by your love. And as we celebrate Valentine's, may we continue to spread love and harbor good feelings towards everyone," said Pascual in a statement released online.

Directed by Olivia Lamasan the movie tells the story of former lovers who cross paths again after breaking up with no closure.

"Starting Over Again" is part of Star Cinema's 20th anniversary.

The U.S. premiere of the romantic comedy will be held at the Fox Theater, Redwood City, California on February 15.
