Yael denies he is a homophobe, settles row with Vice

Vice Ganda confirmed that he and Yael Yuzon have already patched things up following a comment supposedly made by the Sponge Cola lead vocalist against the host-comedian’s “team up” with his fiancée, Karylle.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Sunday, Vice Ganda briefly shared that he and Yuzon are now okay.

“Okay na kami. Nag-usap na kami sa phone. Tumawag siya sa akin pero hindi ko nasagot. Tinawagan ko siya ulit. Okay na kami, nag-uusap na kami,” the comedian said.

In a text message which Yuzon earlier sent to “Buzz ng Bayan,” he said: “I’m just thankful that I was able to talk to Vice and nagkaintindihan na kami. Good vibes for everyone.”

Yuzon also told The Philippine Star that he does not have anything against the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.

“I do not discriminate against gay people and I would never say anything na ganun,” he said. “I already called Vice and cleared what was needed to be clarified. I am thankful to direk Bobet Vidanes who tried to fix the situation.”

Last week, Vice Ganda admitted that their rift started with Karylle's supposed confession to "It's Showtime" director Vidanes that Yuzon did not approve of the "Vicerylle" tandem.

"Parang nahi-hurt siya at 'di niya matanggap na sa dinadami na pwedeng i-pair up sa girlfriend niya, bakit bakla pa? Tapos sobra na siyang pissed off na anytime sasabog na at susugod na siya sa studio,” Vice Ganda said at the time.

Yuzon and Karylle are set to tie the knot next month after being a couple for three years.

Early this month, Vice Ganda sent his well wishes for the two, even warning Yuzon not to break Karylle’s heart as he will have to answer to the rest of the “It’s Showtime” family.

“Mabait si Yael and close na siya sa lahat ng ‘Showtime’ hosts. Para siyang family na rin namin. Kaya nga pinagbabantaan yan ni Billy, ‘Naku huwag mong lolokohin. Humanda ka samin,’” he said at the time.
Vice Ganda also said he knows Yuzon is a good man and he prays that their marriage will last long.

“Good luck sa kanyang napipintong pagpapakasal at pag-aasawa. Sana magsama sila habambuhay at maging happy forever. Mukha naman silang masaya, masayang masaya naman sila,” he said.
